Or follow the two steps below to report (unsolicited commercial) TXT messages to us:
Step one: Forward TXT spam to 7726
Forward the spam message from your phone free of charge to our shortcode: 7726.
You will receive a TXT response from us (the Department of Internal Affairs) asking you to complete your report.
Step two: Reply to our TXT message and include the sender's phone number
Please reply to the message you receive from us with the phone number the spam message originated from.
Your complaint will still be registered even if you do not reply to us with the sender number of the spam message you received.
Our message will contain a hyperlink to the mobi site. The mobi site will explain what happens to your complaint and also contains our Privacy Policy, contact information and links back to this website.

IMPORTANT
ACCIDENTAL REPORTS TO 7726: If you have accidentally reported a SMS message as a scam, please be aware that your telecommunication company will not recognise it as a scam and therefore will not block it. We will also not investigate it further unless it is specifically identified as a scam message.
AUTOMATIC RESPONSES FROM 7726: We are currently aware of an issue where individuals who forward messages for reporting are receiving multiple automated responses from the Department. If you have experienced this, please contact us at info@antispam.govt.nz and include your mobile phone number so we can lodge a report with your service provider on your behalf.
REPORTING OTHER MESSAGE TYPES (SRS, MMS, PXT): If you receive a scam or spam message that cannot be forwarded to 7726 due to its format, please follow the instructions below to manually report the message.
1. Copy the text of the scam message in its entirety
2. Open a new message and enter the recipient as “7726”
3. Paste the copied text into the new message and press send
4. You will receive an automated response TXT response from us requesting the mobile number that sent the scam message
5. Copy the mobile number and paste it into the conversation with 7726, then press send
