Patrick Geddes, Manager, BA, Grad.DipTrans, NAATI Translator (German)
Patrick joined the Translation Service in January 2003. He took on the role of Acting Manager in August 2007. Patrick completed his degree in English and Modern Languages at the University of Auckland and then spent nearly five years working in Berlin in the tourism industry. He returned to New Zealand in 2002 and completed the one-year graduate diploma in translation studies at the University of Auckland. His working languages are German and French.
Quintin Ridgeway, Team Leader, BA(Hons), MProfStuds (Translation), NAATI Translator (German)
Quintin joined the Translation Service in December 2005. His working languages are German and Japanese.
Amy Zeng, Translator, BA, MA
Amy immigrated to New Zealand in 1993. She studied at Tsinghua University in China. Amy commenced employment at the Translation Service in 1994. Her working languages are Chinese and Korean.
Bill Ashwell, Translator, BSc, MA (Japanese), NAATI III (Japanese, Spanish)
Bill joined The Translation Service in 1978. In 1985 he left the service to take up a three-year appointment with Fujitsu Australia as a technical Japanese translator. In 1988 he resumed employment with the Translation Service as a translator. Bill provides translations from Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Scandinavian languages.
Jane McGimpsey, Translator, BA (Hons), PGDipMkt, NAATI Translator (French, German)
Jane joined the Translation Service in November 1997. She left the service in November 2002 and returned in September 2004. Her working languages are French, German and Dutch.
Jing Chen, Translator, BA, PGDipEd
Jing joined the Translation Service in August 2005. Her working language is Chinese.
Katherine Wharton, Translator, BA, BD, NAATI Translator (French, Spanish)
Katherine has been working at the Translation Service since November 2004. Her working languages are French and Spanish.
Shieva Norusian, Assistant Translator
Shieva joined the Translation Service in November 2009. Her working language is German.
Hazel Ryan, Intern Translator, BA (Modern Languages)
Hazel is currently carrying out an Internship at the Translation Service which will finish in September 2010. Her working languages are Spanish, Portuguese and French.
Asma Said-Majeed, Casual Assistant Translator, BA (Translation and Interpreting)
Asma's native language is Arabic. She has been with the Translation Service since 1997.
Anna du Toit, Administration Officer
Anna is fluent in both Afrikaans and English and has a sound knowledge of Chinese. She has been with the Translation Service since April 2009.
Lisa Spence, Administration Officer
Lisa has been with the Translation Service since August 2010.
Alvina Fatialofa, Finance & Administration Officer
