About us › Our Organisation › Performance Improvement Framework Assessment
A Performance Improvement Framework (PIF) is a review of an agency's fitness-for-purpose today and for the future. It looks at the current state of an agency, then how well placed it is to deal with the issues that confront it in the medium-term future. It looks at the areas where the agency needs to do the most work to make itself fit-for-purpose.
The Department’s PIF Review was carried out in the latter half of 2012 and the final report was released in December 2012.
A PIF follow up review usually occurs 12-18 months after a full PIF review. It is designed to ensure the agency has an opportunity to take stock, ensure it is taking into account issues identified in the most recent PIF review and is well placed to deal with future challenges.
