The Visits and Ceremonial office hire out indoor and outdoor flags for a range of countries around the world for events such as conferences, functions and parades in New Zealand.

Flags are subject to availability.

Flag Hire Application Form

Please complete the application below and email to flaghire@dia.govt.nz. Please note that the flag hire application must be completed and submitted at least 5 working days before flag hire.

Flag Types and Sizes

Outdoor flag

2 1/2 yards long (2.3m x 1.15m)

Indoor flag

2 yards long (1.8m x 0.9m)

Cost

$40.00 per flag.
Visits and Ceremonial Office do not hire out poles and bases.

Delivery and Return

Wellington area

Flags can be collected and returned directly to our offices. Contact flaghire@dia.govt.nz

Outside Wellington area

We will courier flags in New Zealand.

Flags that are hired must not be taken overseas.

Conditions of Hire
  • The person responsible for the flag(s) during the hire period must complete and sign an application form.
  • The hire fee must be paid in full before the flags are hired out. In exceptional circumstances, arrangements for invoicing may be made.
  • Flags must be returned to us promptly once the hire period has elapsed or incur further charges at the rate outlined in the price schedule.
  • All courier charges are payable by the hirer. We do not deliver or collect any flags, except in exceptional circumstances. This always remains the hirer's responsibility.
  • Loss of, or damage to, hired flags will be charged to the hirer.
  • There are further terms and conditions on the flag hire form, which the hirer must agree to before the application can proceed.
