Regulators in New Plymouth

AML/CFT News and updates

13 December 2022

Our AML/CFT regulators visited reporting entities throughout New Plymouth in late November as part of the Department’s visible regulatory presence.

While the team was in the region to complete onsite inspections for selected reporting entities, there was an opportunity to pop-in to other New Plymouth-based reporting entities to provide AML/CFT education. Though unannounced, these educational visits were welcomed.

“It was great to be on the ground spreading awareness of AML/CFT best practice between onsite inspections. We know most of our reporting entities want to comply, so it didn’t come as a surprise that our offer for education was well-received,” says Jason Croucher, Senior AML/CFT Regulator.

“Education is a fundamental tool for promoting compliance and we’re always looking for opportunities to maximise this. We’re looking forward to continuing this approach with more in-person, educational visits in the new year.”
