Celebrating 60 Years of New Zealand Citizenship


Service Overview

The New Zealand Citizenship Office administers grants of citizenship, confirmation and denials of citizenship, and descent registrations. Through the Citizenship Office you can: For information about permits and visas to visit, work or live in New Zealand please visit the New Zealand Immigration Service website.



Canterbury Anniversary

The Christchurch Office will be closed on Friday 13th of November 2009 for Canterbury Anniversary Day. Our Christchurch office will reopen with full services on Monday 16th of November 2009.




Important Notice

All applications for the grant of New Zealand citizenship received by the New Zealand Citizenship office on or after 21 April 2010 will be assessed against the 5 year residence requirement. Please ensure your application is in the New Zealand Citizenship office before 21 April 2010 if this affects you.

Information Matching
