Privacy Statement - Customer Experience Survey

The Department of Internal Affairs is committed to protecting the privacy of Customers who choose to participate in its survey. Your feedback will help us improve our services.

Why was I invited to take part in the survey

You recently contacted the Department of Internal Affairs and have been randomly selected to take part in the survey.  Each month about 1,700 Customers provide feedback through the survey. It is your choice whether you take part in the survey or not.

How it works

We'll send you a link to an online survey by email. The link is valid for 15 days from when it's sent. If you get an email invite, it will come from noreply@surveys.dia.govt.nz. Alternatively, you may receive a call from NielsenIQ seeking for your permission to participate in the survey. If you're not sure the survey you received via email or call is valid, please contact us.

The survey will ask you some questions about the service you've recently received from us.

It's voluntary and will take approximately 10-15 minutes. If you want to do it, you'll need access to the internet and normal data charges will apply.

Information collected

If you choose to participate in the Customer Experience Survey, we will ask you about your most recent experience with the Department. Your responses to survey questions will be grouped together with those of all the other people who take part in the survey, so that individual responses cannot be identified.

Your details will be stored to ensure we don’t send you another survey invite for at least 12 months.

We'll never ask you to provide personal details, eg, your address, your passwords or bank account numbers, as part of the survey.

If you opt-out of receiving customer experience surveys from us, we will keep your details so to ensure we do not send you survey invites in the future.

What we do with your feedback

Your feedback helps us understand what we're doing well and where we can do better. We'll use your feedback to improve services and systems. Your responses will be grouped together with those of all the other people who take part in the survey, so that individual responses cannot be identified.

Don't want to get these surveys in the future
