Details of Prince Harry's visit to Whanganui

Details of Prince Harry’s visit to Whanganui are below:

Thursday 14 May

  • 9.30am: Prince Harry arrives at Whanganui Airport to be met by Her Worship the Mayor of Whanganui Annette Main.
  • 9.45am: Pōwhiri for Prince Harry at Pūtiki Marae.
  • 11.35am: Prince Harry will join the crew of the Marae’s waka on the Whanganui River.
  • 12.30pm: Prince Harry will alight from the waka adjacent to Union Boat House. Members of the public should note that the City Bridge will be closed while Prince Harry is on the waka.
  • 1.00pm: Prince Harry will meet with Veterans at the War Memorial Centre.
  • 2.30pm: Prince Harry will have a public walkabout in front of the War Memorial Centre. This will be the main opportunity for members of the public to see Prince Harry in Whanganui.
  • 3.00pm: Prince Harry departs Whanganui for Auckland.
