Details of Prince Harry's visit to Christchurch and Linton

Details of Prince Harry’s visit to Christchurch are below:

Tuesday 12 May

  • 11.00am: Prince Harry arrives at RNZAF Air Movements Terminal.
  • 11.05am: Prince Harry departs airport for New Regent Street, travelling along Memorial Drive.
  • 11.15am: Prince Harry arrives at New Regent Street to be met by the Prime Minister Rt Hon John Key and Hon Gerry Brownlee for a tram ride to Cashel Street.
  • 11.20am: Tram ride from New Regent Street to Cashel Street.
  • 11.35am: Tram arrives at Quake City on Cashel Street where Prince Harry will be met by Her Worship the Mayor of Christchurch, Lianne Dalziel.
  • 12.20pm: Public walkabout along Cashel Street in front of the Re:Start Mall. This will be the main opportunity for members of the public to see Prince Harry in Christchurch.
  • 3.00pm: Prince Harry arrives at the University of Canterbury to meet the Student Volunteer Army.

Wednesday 13 May
  • 9.15am: Prince Harry visits Odyssey House.
  • 10.15am: Prince Harry departs Christchurch for Linton.
  • 11.35am: Prince Harry arrives at Linton Military Camp. In Linton Prince Harry will undertake training on the Army’s all-terrain vehicle (ATV); he will help lift a hangi; learn the Army’s Haka; deliver a message from the Princess Royal to the Royal NZ Nursing Corp in recognition of their centennial year and participate in a game of touch rugby with children from Linton Camp School.
  • 2.45pm: Prince Harry leaves Linton.
