Consultation on proposed changes to DIA Information Matching Agreements

6 April 2018

The Department of Internal Affairs has opened consultation on a proposal to replace several existing Information Matching Agreements with an Approved Information Sharing Agreement (AISA).

As a key part of a programme to transform the way New Zealanders access services the new AISA will allow the Department to build a single joined-up view of a customer’s identity and life event information.

Life event information covers a range of services including births, deaths and marriages, name changes, New Zealand citizenship and passports.

The proposal means that customers will spend less time providing their details and that the Department will be able to help with a wider range of services in a single interaction.

The current Agreements only allow for the details held about an individual customer to be used for a single identity or life event that has been recorded for that individual.

Consultation is open until Friday 4 May. More information can be found here: http://www.dia.govt.nz/Proposed-Changes-to-DIA-Information-Matching-Agreements
