Lottery Significant Projects FundThe Lottery Significant Projects Fund will provide grants large enough to enable the completion of community projects with a total value of at least $1 million. To be eligible for Lottery funding, projects must be for community purposes.
Objective of the Fund The Fund will support major community based projects that demonstrate significant support from the community and have a range of benefits contributing to wider community, regional and/or national outcomes, with particular reference to:

The closing date is 17 September 2009 and decisions will be announced in March 2010. The Lottery Significant Projects Fund will allocate grants to complete large scale, community based, capital expenditure projects with a total cost of at least $1 million. There will be a total of $9.8 million available to distribute this year. The fund will help complete large projects which have significance for the wider community, the region, or the nation as a whole. Applications will be considered from organisations that show their projects contribute to the Lottery Grants Board's vision of New Zealanders building strong sustainable communities together. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have already raised significant funds for the project prior to applying to the Fund. Applicants must have raised 60 per cent of the actual project cost, and must be able to show the source of all project funding. Projects will need to provide significant community benefits in one or more of the following areas:
