igovt identity verification service |
Online identity services commercial relationshipsThe Department of Internal Affairs wants to hear from organisations interested in commercial relationships with it regarding igovt services, and has issued an Invitation to Present Commercial Opportunities (IPCO). The IPCO is an exploration of ideas. It’s not a procurement process for goods and services. It asks the private sector to respond to the Department about using the igovt services and/or partnering with the Department to deliver, get uptake and add innovations to the services. This is not an IT project, and the responses do not need to deal with specifics of technology, business design or the technical aspects of the igovt services. The purpose of the IPCO is to see if any one in the private sector wants to partner or enter into some other commercial arrangement with the Department, for instance to take part in investment and provide operational scale, and share in revenue generation opportunities. Private sector use and partnering would make uptake and innovation happen faster for the benefit of all involved – the private sector, public and government. Responses to the IPCO are to be used to report to government later this year on whether private sector involvement is a credible option for future use and funding of the igovt services. Organisations wishing to respond to this IPCO must email their response completed using the Response Template (Microsoft Word format) and address any enquiries to: tenders@dia.govt.nz. Please note that parties making a response, including organisations with existing relationships with the Department, may not question or canvass staff of the Department, other than through tenders@dia.govt.nz. Any breach of this requirement will risk exclusion of the party from the process.
