The Minister of Local Government has directed the Department of Internal Affairs to post on its website the Cabinet papers and minutes on the Government's decisions relating to a review of the local government system, entitled 'Smarter Government, Stronger Communities: Towards Better Local Governance and Public Service'.
These papers are released consistent with the Official Information Act 1982. Certain information has been deleted from the Cabinet minutes being released, consistent with Cabinet Office guidelines [CO Notice (09) 5 refers].
