Te Whakamotuhaketanga Hapu

(Statement on the use of macrons)

Te Whakamotuhaketanga Hapu is about the way the Department of Internal Affairs works with Maori. It focuses on reducing barriers to Maori accessing the Department’s services, and supports the Department’s key outcome of strong sustainable communities/hapu/iwi.

Te Whakamotuhaketanga Hapu is one of several approaches used by the Department to reach and respond to diverse community needs.

During January - June 2006, the Department conducted a design and process evaluation of Te Whakamotuhaketanga Hapu. The results of the evaluation provide a framework for moving forward.
