A hospitality background meant Andrew Jones was viewed favourably when he interviewed for a Passports Officer position.  Three and a half years later he’s in a secondment as a Business Support Officer, still with the Passports branch.

He loves the variety of DIA and says if he wanted to find something else interesting to do in the organisation, it wouldn’t be difficult.

“DIA is a good employer, you know the leadership are committed to their staff, and this is by far the best place I’ve worked”

Andrew says the way DIA engages with its staff is one of the reasons he’s stayed put.  The opportunities are also really attractive.

“I’ve acted as team leader in many areas and actually this is a secondment to someone’s position, who is also on secondment,” he says.  “Managers are also good about exploring other ways for staff to use their skills.  I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
