How to Review Internet Activity

These guidelines are one tool that you can use to review your family’s Internet activity.
However, no one tool can cover all circumstances, and active supervision of your children is the best safeguard. Nothing beats developing a relationship with your children where they will alert you to anything they encounter on the Internet that makes them feel uncomfortable or at risk.
The Internet can be a very powerful tool for good or bad. Being aware of the risks and how to use it safely can make it an enjoyable and useful experience.
Review your child's Internet activities by finding the websites and pages viewed recently on any computer using these simple steps.
Step One
Open your Internet Browser (eg: Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator etc.)
Step Two
a) For Internet Explorer Version 6 and under:
Click on 'History' button in the toolbar (or type Ctrl+H on keyboard).
The 'History' bar will appear, listing the web addresses of sites visited recently.
Click on the addresses listed to visit the sites.
b) For Internet Explorer Version 7 & 8:
Click on 'Tools' in the Menu bar
Click on 'Internet Option' in the 'Tools Menu list'
Click on the 'Settings' button under the 'Browsing History' on the 'General' tab
Click 'View files'
c) For Firefox Version 2:
Click on 'History' in the menu bar.
d) For Netscape Navigator 3.0:
Click and hold on 'Window' option in the toolbar. From 'Window' menu select 'History' (or type Ctrl+H on keyboard).
A pop up 'History' window will appear, listing the web addresses of sites visited recently.
Double click on the addresses listed to visit the sites.
e) For Netscape Communicator 4.0 - 4.08:
Click and hold on 'Communicator' option in the toolbar. From 'Communicator' menu select 'History' (or type Ctrl+H on keyboard).
A pop up 'History' window will appear, listing the web addresses of sites visited recently.
Double click on the addresses listed to visit the sites.
f) For Netscape Communicator 4.5 - 4.7:
Click and hold on 'Communicator' option in the toolbar. From 'Communicator' menu select 'Tools', then 'History' (or type Ctrl+H on keyboard).
A pop up 'History' window will appear, listing the web addresses of sites visited recently.
Double click on the addresses listed to visit the sites.
Please note: Other browsers may differ from the above. Internet 'History' may be accessed through 'Options' menu or others in the toolbar of some browsers. If in doubt, contact the supporting company for information on how to access the 'History' list through your browser type.
Step Three
To delete the sites, place cursor on address, click on the right button on your mouse and select delete from the drop down menu.
