RealMe services

RealMe® is a government authentication and identity verification service.  You can use RealMe to log into many New Zealand government sites and services with just one username and password to remember.  When you use your RealMe® login to access an online service you are not sharing any of your personal details with that service, and only you can see where and when you have used your login.

With a RealMe® verified identity you can prove who you are when using online services. A verified identity is not an ID card or a piece of paper. It is electronic and made up of four pieces of information about you: your full name, date of birth, place of birth and gender. When a participating online service needs to know who you are, you consent to share your identity details with RealMe®.
